Hard time burning a cd
Hard time burning a cd
Hello guys, Ive been up all night trying to burn a cd and its one failure after the other. I snapped a shot of the last error and hope you can help me. I plan on going purchasing an external usb writer but I also tried to burn this image on another machine and although it burnt well the disc was empty.
This error is on a win xp using image burn
The other t61 has win7
The iso file loads up in daemon tools fine and can access everything.
Any help is appreciated.
Well it looks like I cant post pics so here is the error
i/o error
device my dvd drive
interpretation check condition
sk interpertation illegal request
asc/ascq cannot write medium incompatible format
I tried DVDs and same issue, it starts slowing down at 58% on this machine but goes to 100% on the other machine.
I also tried with isomagic and it burns fine on the xp machine but again nothing is on disc.
Thanks for any help

Appreciate the reply, after hours of messing with this, I went to walmart and picked up a cheap Lg DVD Burner, all problems solved.
What are the odds for both my T61 machines DVD burners to go at the same time.
Not long ago I was using both.
Thank you again for your help.

Re: Hard time burning a cd
Just in case, when you burn an ISO, quite often you won't see anything when you look at the CD/DVD with Explorer.
Those are usually hidden/system files.

Re: Hard time burning a cd
Each machine has its own issues, one couldnt find a reference point, the other gave the error above. Also the cd that has the orig info which I was reading fine last week, was appearing blank, I thought I lost the data as it did appear blank on both computers. One t61 would eject it each time I try to access it.
Just weird.
Iam now looking for two new optical drives as I would like the machine to be fully functional once again and return this lg.
So do you guys recommend to purchase a specific model thats known to last or any to stay away for that matter.
Thanks for your help

Re: Hard time burning a cd
My advice: put a SATA HD-adapter with 2nd HD in the CD-bay, and use your external burner, whenever you need one.

Re: Hard time burning a cd
I have some original lenovo multi burners, and some of the cdrw/dvd combo drives. I'd be glad to send you a couple and I'm sure we can agree on a fair price. I also have some ultrabay harddrive adapters if you'd like one of them. Feel free to send me a PM if you're interested.bass1175 wrote:
