T60 WMP Equalizer whistles with any change from default.

#1 Post by skygodtj » Sun Sep 23, 2012 10:50 am

This is really strange. My T60 (Win7 HP, WMP12) graphic equalizer whistles a very high pitch if anything other than default is selected, doesnt matter which slider is moved either, it whistles very loudly tho it seems to whistle most with the 16k slider. Any of the presets do it also. I mainly use the equalizer to bump the volume, but am going to use MP3Gain now but this whistling really has me stumped.. I've tried turning off any/all other enhancements but it doesnt seem to make a differance.

Whistling, when it appears as a result of adjusting audio settings, will typically be due to feedback from an active microphone. I'd check your audio settings for the built-in microphone and either lower the volume slider or mute it.

Ray, 'thot because it was only doing it with the Equalizer, it was something about it, or the driver and not the mic level (which I never use).. had to really dig to find the mic slider (doesnt show up under the sys tray volume icon).. but found it I did, slid it Off, then fiddled with the Equalizer.. and there IS Joy In Mudville Tonight!! woohoo!!! I dont know why I wasnt smart enough to think of this! =) Thanks!!
