I have: T61p board + heatsink + processor + power supply + keyboard + external monitor + hdd.
how can I check if the board is functional (to the extent being restricted by above parts, ie. I can't check the bluetooth for example)? I would appreciate step by step instructions what to connect. basically If I can see the bios screen it would be fine.
thank you,
geos

All that seems to be missing is the DC-jack, the CMOS battery and some RAM.
On the bare board, put in DC-jack, CPU, fan, CMOS battery, RAM, keyboard and connect the external monitor.
Make sure the keyboard does not 'short' anything, keep it lifted up.
Now connect the adapter and switch on.
Press F1 to go into BIOS and set Date/Time.
See where that gets you.
Don't try the HD yet, unless there is a T61 compatible OS on it with correct drivers.

Thanks! I have RAM + CMOS battery too, and I'm really missing DC jack. Should I press some specific key combination on keyboard to have signal send to external monitor or the motherboard will "figure out" that there is no internal screen?
thank you,

Might have to toggle the Fn+F7 combination if you are not getting any display on the external monitor.
