Hi

My computer came up with this error message. Even though it suggests what to do I still dont know what exactly is the problem and what to do, for example what am i supposed to do one I do get into BIOS mode i have no idea.

(When I had a different error message I did start the computer in Safe Mode but had no idea what i was supposed to do after that)

Anyway I have noticed my computer taking a while to load pages, when this wasn't an issue at least a month ago.

What is the stop error message? The picture of the screen is too small to read.

If you don't properly identify your computer and operating system then people will be reluctant to try to help you, Neil had to duplicate the work in giving you two possible solutions and there are many more possible operating systems you could have. It takes all of 10 seconds to tell us, and it could take an hour or more for the unpaid volunteer your asking to lookup solutions for every possible combination, so most posts without basic info are simply ignored.

Every request should begin with your system model number and operating system, in fact it's best to include the full system specs just to be thorough.

You have to be more forgiving I am obviously new to this.

Okay, check one more time
Is your operting system XP Home, XP Professional, XP Starter, XP Media Center... I think there are others, but I don't know them all. I don't have XP, but I think you can right click on the Computer Icon, choose Properties, and then see what edition of XP you have.

wow- the omission of one word causes so much trouble, here it is:

in addition when I got a blue screen message and when my computer just suddenly went blank (with the power and ac still on) I got an ms windows error message in a grey box after then re-oning the computer.

After following links and buttons the windows error reporting help page mentioned having to solve a problem with my video device driver and then helpfully guides you to what needs to be done.

So this could be why all this is happening. If i have any further problems I will say.

I was being "forgiving", I took the time to explain what you need to provide and why, the "unforgiving" approach would be to simply ignore your request.

You have what is typically referred to as "Blue Screen of Death" (BSOD). These can generally be caused by hardware or software faults, and (seemingly) in some cases by planetary alignment at the moment WinXP is notorious for this and in some cases you can continue by just rebooting which will clear a lot of problems that could lead to such a crash. If you get this error repeatedly then there are ways to investigate the cause, but in most cases the easiest way to fix it is to reinstall the operating system.
