T60 flickers twice then goes black when watching video

When I load a video whether it be on the internet or with a media player my screen flickers twice then goes black. The only way to get out of this problem is to do a hard restart by holding down the power button, resetting the computer. I tried searching but couldn't find a fix to this problem. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
