Weird color calibration problem on T61 Intel GMA

Hello all,

I'm having a problem with color reproduction on my T61 1680x1050 screen.
I'm running windows 7, panel calibrated with eyeOne, had to disable igfxpers.exe from autoloading (known intel win7 bug, googled it) to get decent colors... all was well.

Recently, the display started having a problem with gradients - color shades look almost like 256 colors when the monitor profile is loaded. It is not 100% reproducible, seems random.

If I turn the windows calibration completely off, the problem goes away, but I'm left with the ugly default colors of the screen.

Anybody here with similar issue or ideas?

I really don't know what you mean by "ugly default colors". I have several T61 series with Intel x3100, NVS140m and FX570m graphics, none have ugly colors so I have to wonder what problem you're trying to fix, but whatever it is, the fact that it's causing a secondary problem indicates that your method is flawed.

I'd recommend removing all your software and drivers and installing the most recent drivers from Lenovo, and see if you still have a problem. I know many people allow windows update to take guess at what drivers are needed and this sometimes gets you incompatible ones that Lenovo avoided for good reason. I'll also add that I have no problem using Win 7 on the x3100 graphics.

Do you have this problem only on battery or it also happens while on AC?
