Haven't received it yet but ...

I bought a T61 7661-12U for $100 (sans battery). I'm going to be ordering a battery for it tomorrow or once I get confirmation that I will be getting it.

I'm planning on throwing 4gb of RAM in it from my dead Netbook and dead dell (both over 4 years old) and going from there! Maybe a SSD eventually.

Hopefully this one will end up a bit better than my old thinkpad T60 ...

It's a low-end 14.1" widescreen T61 with Intel graphics.
Price sounds OK if it is all working and decent-looking.
Check with TuuS for a battery.

Yep you did OK. Second checking with TuuS for battery and virtually anything else you might need.

It uses DDR2 memory which hopefully is what you got on hand. With 4 GB of RAM and a SSD the T61 is still a very capable machine.

I have the laptop DDR2 sitting around from my Dell and Netbook ... and some extra.

I'm sure there's some scratches I didin't know about but we'll have to see. I'll probably use it for a bit and then give it to the parents when I can afford an ultrabook or something a bit more powerful.

Just received it!

Threw in some more memory and installed Win 7 on it. Forgot how sturdy these things feel.

Loving having the track point too ...

These are nice affordable systems, very dependable too with the Intel graphics. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for years to come.
