Hello,

first thank you for a great site.

I have just upgraded my old T60 14 inches XGA with T7600 to T61 14 inches XGA with T7700 processor. Both Windows 7 32bit. I was used to control the processor clock with Notebook Hardware Control application on the T60. Therefore I was getting either longer battery life or higher performance.

BUT it doesnt work on my present T61. I cannot change the multiplier (FID). Sometimes it changes itself, but I dont see any logical pattern in it. I have also tried other programs, such as RMclock, but with no result.

May I ask, what should I do now to control processor clock?

Thank you very much

Ladislav

use throttlestop, RMClock is older and more complicated to setup, therefore you may have missed something.

on second though, check your BIOS to see if Intel SpeedStep Technology is enabled.

IBM_ECW also works on Core 2 Duo systems (confirmed working on T400, T60, T61) and it is a very nice program.
