T60P Display issue

Good afternoon all:

I own a T60P which was sent out to Lenovo just befor the waranty expired and the display was replaced. Anyhow, after about 9 months or so I noticed the display was not as bright as it should be. This issue has remanded the same until a could of months ago where my unit's display is somewhat red on the boot up and after it gets fully loaded most of the red goes away, however, the display is still at about 1/2 brightness.

My question is: Will a new inverter take care of this or is it a more serious problem ?

Thanks to anynone who can shed some "light" on this.

Steve :D

A new inverter will do nothing for you.

The backlight (CCFL) is on its way out, and needs to be replaced. You're likely better off swapping the entire panel.

Good luck.

Thanks for your post. Would you know of a vendor or some one on this group who sells replacement dispay unit. My T60P is model
2008-83U

Thanks very much

PS

It's odd that this has gone bad as Lenovo replaced it not too long ago and the unit has had very little use. Actually, they replaced the entire lid, display and hinges and the main board when they did the work. Oh well, this has been a great unit and owes me nothing. I use it mostly for checking out the net.

:D
