I am using a T60p 200794u Lenovo Thinkpad and just oiled the fan with clipper oil, I did use Artic Silver before I reassembled it. How long can I expect this to work? I read several posts and it sounded like I could get away with it at least for awhile. Also I have WIN 7 Ultimate loaded. I read the manual for this laptop and it says it anly supports only 3 GIG of RAM but there are sites selling 4 GIG upgrades, was the RAM limitations tied to the OS "XP" will WIN 7 let me upgrade the RAM.

While the BIOS in your T60p will recognize 4GB, only 3GB will be usable due to a chipset limitation, regardless of OS used.

Only you can be the judge of the fan operation - if it starts getting noisy, or the temperatures climb too high, it's time for a replacement fan...
