Hi all

I have a T61 that originally came with Windows Vista but now it has Windows XP.

This laptop works like a charm except for the fact that it constantly looses its Internet
Connection.

When I go to see in the “Status” of the Network Connection in the windows XP,
It shows the IP address, The Subnet Mask and the Default Gateway are all 000.000 (zeros)

The message that appears is always the same “Acquiring Network Address”.

This is not a problem of the Network because I use a open public network and, in the very same table were I am accessing the Internet always with this problem, somebody else, accessing the
Very same network as never had any problem at all, ever.

The Questions are:

- Does this appear to be a software or Hardware problem ?
- What can I do to try to identify the problem and correct it ?

All the best

Stilicho

its a software problem. You can try:

- updating your wifi card drivers;
- removing Access connection;
- also could try using drivers posted in the Intel site for your wifi card rather than those posted on the lenovo site.

you can look in the Event Viewer to see if your current drivers are giving any errors.
