Hi Folks,
We are running a T61 and it goes into Sleep mode while walking through code in Excel. After a minute we restart it and we can continue stepping throug the code, but then it goes back into sleep mode. Sounds like an overheating issue to me. Can anyone provide comments or suggestions?
Thanks,
SAD

Re: T61 goes into sleep mode?
Check all your Power Management settings (both software and BIOS).
One of them is likely set too 'short' in duration.

Re: T61 goes into sleep mode?
Thanks for the response. The software settings are definitely not too short. However, the bios might be an issue. Although I would expect the sleep mode problem to occur when doing things like email, web browsing, ect. and it does not. The computer may be on from 6:00 am to 3 PM without a problem.
I checked the bottom left underside of the T61 and it seemed rather hot. I compared it with my W510 which is running an I7 and it is much cooler and never goes into sleep mode except when the computer has been inactive for the preset time.
Thanks,
Shane

Re: T61 goes into sleep mode?
So, are you saying this only happens when working with Excel, and never, ever, happens when using any other application?
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
Re: T61 goes into sleep mode?
Hi,
Not so hard to believe, but the user doesn't know. What they do know is it goes into Sleep mode when they run a macro. On my machine the macro runs in less than 2-3 minutes and there are no sleep problems, but my machine is a Thinkpad W510 I7 with a lot of extras.
Thanks,
Shane
