ThinkVantage Button Activated on Resume

#1 Post by Dale H. Cook » Mon Dec 17, 2012 9:08 am

Here's an odd problem that has popped up in the last couple of weeks. When my T60 resumes from hibernation it sometimes acts as if the ThinkVantage button was pressed at about the time the desktop displays. I use hotkey 8001 to launch a batch file for my most-used utility (the shell), so I changed 8001 to launch the executable for a different utility, and that is what now sometimes launches on resume. This doesn't happen on every resume, only about half the time.

It is two and a half years later, and this problem has resurfaced. The Thinkvantage button eventually stopped working and so the problem went away. Recently I started having a variety of other problems so I re-imaged the HD from the system recovery CDs. That put the Thinkvantage button back into action, but also restored the occasional activation of that button on resumption from hibernation. It looks like I will just have to give up the use of the Thinkvantage button as not usable, even after a system restore.
