Problems: After upgrading to windows 8 pro, 64 bit (4GB RAM). Audio is not working. Please assist.
What have done: Searched for Lenovo sound driver for windows 8: does not exist
Uninstalled the drivers, then installed Vista 64 - Not working
Uninstalled the drivers, then install the window 7 drivers - not working
Spent lots of time playing around with many combinations (various) but to no avail
Situation:
Now: Thinkpad 4GB RAM, windows 8 Pro 64 bit
Before: Thinkpad T61 7665-827. Came with 1 GB RAM, windows XP.
Status Solved: downloaded driver from Lenovo website, and installed it. This driver is for Vista/windows7 only, but it worked. No windows8 driver.
I have done this a few times before, not to mention all the reinstallation of windows 8.
I took my computer to the Microsoft store, and what they found out was "the speaker button on the top left (near ESC key) was off. They did not do anything except to press it. silly me... overlooked it.
