T60p wont turn on
T60p wont turn on
Hello everyone! Here is what happened:
I've been updating my iTunes when suddenly the screen on my t60p (20088LU) went black although the system itself seemed to be running. I tried to turn the computer off by pressing and holding the power button, but nothing happened - the system was still running (I’m 100% sure the fan and internet connection were working, and not sure as to anything else). Then I just took off the battery and unplugged the AC adaptor which apparently did the job. When I tried to turn it back on again - I couldn't and still cannot. When I press the power button the main fan and the HDD fan kick on. After a few seconds main fan stops and HDD fan continues to run. Other than that nothing happens - the computer does not turn on. I've already tried discharging the capacitors by unplugging AC adaptor, taking off the battery and then holding power button for 30 sec but it didn't help.
May be you guys have some ideas on what could be an issue here?

Re: T60p wont turn on

Re: T60p wont turn on
Already tried that and the board is quiet. It is fried you think?
Re: T60p wont turn on
But can the board be fried with HDD fan working since, as I understand, HDD is powered through the board.

Re: T60p wont turn on
There's only one fan on T60/p.
And yes, the board can be damaged beyond repair even if the fan/HDD show activity.
My last attempt would be to try another CPU, but that's likely a stretch.
Good luck.
