T61P Type 6459, 6457, close enough to swap drives with Win7?

Instead of fixing my 6459 case, I'm thinking of just moving the hard drive into a fresh cadaver. But it seems like most of the used T61P's on the market are type 6457 not 6459. Any experience or opinion on whether Windows7 is going to gracefully say "insert disk, gimme new drivers" or whether it will have a fit when it reaches out and finds it is booting in a 6457 instead of a 6459? (Same FHD video in both systems.)

AFAIK the motherboard and CPU type are the same, even if the speed is different, and it should tolerate the rest of the differences without complaining. Or at least, complaining but booting, yes?

The differences being mainly minor ones if I'm reading the hardware manual correctly, such as the WiFi card, CPU speed, all things that shouldn't affect the HAL.DLL and booting. I think.

You'll be fine.

Wireless card is the only thing that might cause you grief but that's fixable.

Thank you!

(Much happier measuring twice, cutting once, if you know what I mean.)
