Clock stuck in Windows XP...

#1 Post by wrybread » Wed Jan 02, 2013 3:26 am

I have a T60 that's always had issues with the clock. It'll run fine for a little while, and then just stop. I've tried a zillion fixes suggested from around the internet, and changed the bios battery. Nothing seems to help.

I'm running Windows XP SP3 with all updates.

I'm wondering if this might be some known issue with the T60, and if there's any fix that anyone can think of?

Thanks for any help.

Go to Control Panel/Date & Time/Internet Time tab and change the Server.
time.windows.com does NOT work.
time.nist.gov works OK.
Afterwards it will check once a week at the same time for synchronization.

Thanks for the advice. I've already done that, but that doesn't help with the fact that the time goes off every 3 hours or so...

Sometimes it goes off 15 minutes after setting it.

The clock simply stops.

Really weird.
