Installed 64-bit on a c2duo accidently

So I installed a 64-bit version of win 7 accidentally on a Core 2 Duo T61, and now not sure if I should reinstall the correct version or am I fine with the 64-bit on this machine. Anyone know what kind of performance/behavior I should see, the same, decrease or increase? Should I leave it as is or put back the 32-bit.
Thanks in advance.

If you have enough RAM - as in 4GB or more - you'll be fine.
I've got a 64-bit version of W7 Pro on my T61-based FrankenPad and the darn thing flies. It also has 8GB RAM and a SSD, though...

Thanks a lot you just saved me from lots of headaches, that is indeed the plan, is to install a Micron M4 64gb SSD and compare the performance to my T410 i5 SSD setup. SSD on my T410 gives excellent performance and now Iam looking forward to test the Micron on the T61. Will report back with performance. Thanks again for the speedy reply.

Well, I have a T410 with an i5 here and that thing is fast, no questions asked, even with a 7200rpm mechanical drive.
Unless you have a higher-end CPU (T9300 or above) in that T61, don't expect performance that will match the T410's...

Agree! The T410 has outstanding performance, never had anything this fast. SSD is a nice accommodation to this type for sure.
