DVD burner upgrade for T61 7659 WAD?

#1 Post by aogo » Fri Feb 22, 2013 3:56 pm

I recently bought a used UJ-842 to replace my DVD/CD-RW unit on my T61 7659 WAD.
I'm fairly certain something was wrong with the drive.

I am looking to buy a dvd multi burner for my laptop.
It seems like there are a few different to choose from and I've already struck out with the UJ-842.
I'm looking for the model that would be most compatible with my system.
Any recommendations?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate edition.
Thank you all.
This forum is great.

Thanks for the replies!
I was having troubles with a used 39T2677 I bought from ebay so I am returning that to the seller.
I bought a new 39T2829 from ebay tonight.
I hope it works.
Thanks again.

If your ebay purchase doesn't work out I have some drives, all fully tested. I know some of the prices on ebay are hard to beat but as you noticed many ebay sellers sell untested pulls, it's much easier to let the buyer do the testing since it takes time to test them and time is money, but they seem to have no regard for the fact that the buyers time is also valuable.

If your deal falls through let me know and I'll get you one.

You are waiting for more than two weeks for this drive to arrive? That's one ridiculously long wait.

I bought one during the last week of February that did not work.
I returned that immediately and received a refund.

I ordered another a few weeks ago and had issues with the delivery of the package.
The usps tracking information showed that the package was delivered but i never received the pacakge. I think someone stole the package from the front entrance of my apartment building where our mail is delivered.
That ebay seller is sending me another via fedex and it's scheduled to arrive Tuesday.
