I would like to know if I have the latest middleton bios on this machine, which supports sata II full speed. As far as I remember, the initial bios from middleton only supported sata 1.5. CPUZ states I have 7LETC9WW (2.29), with a build date of 3/18/2011.

The newest T61 bios from middleton has a filename of
7luj27uc with a "file modified date" of 5/11/2011 -

I just want to make sure Im running full sata II to take advantage of my OCZ vertex II SSD drive. Any help is greatly appreciated. Is there a bios program I can run to determine specifics? Thanks in advance!

Don't have my T61 handy to check for you. One way to know for sure, assuming you have a SSD in the main bay, run a benchmark. I like ATTO. If the SSD max out at 125ish MB/s then you are only on SATA I, on SATA II you'll see speeds around the 250+ MB/s range.

Yes, this is great. Looks like, infact, I have the latest bios release from middleton. I am getting read speeds in the 265mb/s range with bursts to 290mb/s, so its gotta be running SATA II.

I also forced IDA mode, so my T9300 is running 2.7ghz on both cores. Just as snappy as a new laptop for basic stuff. Also upgraded the memory, so I have timings of 4-4-4-12, which shaved 20ms off stock latency speeds. Thanks cigarguy!
