Hello
I have thinkpad T60 with x1400 and SXGA+ IPS screen and i want plug video to Advanced dock. Which card ? I read the R6570 1GB DDR3 is the best for it, but im not sure...

I dont want new LCD, i want use internal one (ExpressCard Capture or USB 3.0 cap..) if possible.

Could the new AMD 8xxx series GPU run in the dock ? Im not sure what limitations the dock have... are the 50W and x1 bus only limit ?

can i raise the 50W PCI supply by pluging 120W PSU instead of 90W one ?

Sorry for my English...

Thanks very much
Joseph

If you take a graphic card to the Advanced Dock, you cannot use it with your notebook's own LCD. You'll need an external display.

As far as I know, even with an eGPU (which is an alternative solution to the Advanced Dock with external power supply) you'll need an external display (in the case of T60).

The limitations you mentioned are true - the bandwidth is limited to PCI-E x1 and the dock can handle cards with maximum ~50W TDP. I read somewhere in the forum someone experimented successfully with a HD7750 in the dock. Otherwise, HD6570 is the top. I don't know nothing specific about the upcoming Radeon series.

The Advanced Dock has its own internal power supply, so you cannot use any external power supply with it.
