T60p 2007-83u and 2007-93u motherboard compatibality.

#1 Post by Makertronic » Thu Mar 28, 2013 3:34 pm

Hello, I recently received a Thinkpad T60p 2007-93u that has dying graphics from a family member. I've been looking all over the internet for a motherboard with the right S\N, which is 41W1370, I found this one on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/171014420892?ss ... 1438.l2649. But this one says it is for a type 2007-83u, the only difference that I have found in the 83u and the 93u is the screen size, all I'm wondering is if the motherboard will work in my laptop.

Thanks for any help,

Welcome to the forum!

It will work just fine, the actual motherboards are of the same size for these two machines.

Wow, that response was fast. Thank you so much for your reply. I was thinking that they were the same because of the same S\N, but I couldn't be sure.

If you're interested on one of these I have one that I'm sure is much better tested then your typical ebay board (most sold on ebay are only tested by booting to bios). Most T60/T60p boards I get $49 to 89 plus shipping. I also have some high-end cpu chips for these models as well as a kit to convert them to T61 which will allow for more ram, faster cpu, faster hdd/ssd drives.

Feel free to send me a PM if you're interested and we can discuss it.
