I have the opportunity to buy 2x2gb pc memory for my T60.
I know that the th T60 only has 3gb addressable memory (whether it has the ablility to use the unadressed 1gb as a ramdrive is a seperate question), but I would oneday like to upgrade to a RELIABLE T61 (something not nvidia and made after 08/08) for a better CPU/RAM bus speed.
There is pc5300 ram in the t60 right now. Can I put in pc6400 ram in there? And one day when I get a T61 put that ram into that one?

Yes and yes.
But for T61 with Intel GPU you can use ANY build-date, since they don't suffer from graphics problems.

^^ Yep, what RBS said. You can always put in faster RAM, the system will downclock to the fastest speed it is capable of.
I doubt you can utilize the other 1 GB as the chipset cannot recognize more than 3 GB, which is a shame as a T7600 CPU is 64 bit. I could be wrong on this. If you find a way to do it, please let us know.

Dude it's worth it. Got a T60p specifically for the screen after falling in love with flexview on a X60 tablet. Going the final step and getting a Frankenpad kit from TuuS to marry to that screen. Check the Marketplace of this forum, some respected members here that maybe able to help you. IMO, much better than Ebay.

If you're looking for a 14" machine with Intel graphics and a SXGA+ screen that's not going to be an easy find.
However, I do have one available that can be CTO'd to suit your needs.
PM if interested.
