Hello,
I am trying to use System Migration Assistant to migrate my files and settings from my old T42 to my new T60p ThinkPad. I'm using a cat. 5 cable, and I can't seem to get them to connect. When I get to the step in which you have to type \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\SMAPKG\SmaLauncher.exe into the Run box of the "source" computer (in which "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" is the IP address of the target computer), I get the message "The network path was not found."
They are both running Windows XP.
Windows Firewall is disabled on both ThinkPads.

I had mega problems trying to do almost the same thing (T43 to T61).

I finally got it to connect when I disabled Windows Firewall on both machines. And it was tough finding where it was in Windows 7.

I also did best by starting on the Target machine, then bringing on the source machine.

I somehow think one of the earlier SMA's actually imported some of my Microsoft Applications, but the current one (SMA 6) did not.
