t60p uxga question

I finally got a 15" t60p with the uxga ips screen! I have wanted one for a while. The thing is in almost mint condition, it still has the thinkvantage technologies sticker on the lid. It is model 2623-DDU. Quick question about the panels used in the t60p's!
I have an old t43 with an sxga+ ips panel. It is really bright! hurts the eyes if turned all the way up even during day time.
The t60p panel has better color, but is not as bright. It is as bright turned all the way up as the t43 is when it is 2 notches from its brightest setting. Is this normal for the t60p lcd panels?
Thank you everybody for your time.

I'm no FlexView expert (hopefully someday!!) but you can use the excellent free utility "MonInfo" to pull the data from your panel and see what brand panel you have in each case. CCFL bulb condition could also be a factor.

Yes, there can be some variance in brightness levels.

All 2623-DDUs that I've ever seen had an ID Tech LCD, which has great colours and viewing angles but is likely to get dim after 6 years.
Your T43's IPS panel is likely ID Tech as well given the brightness description, but has seen less power-on hours most likely.

/\--- there you have it from the flexview expert himself!!!
ps. If you like bright screens check and see if "theboardroom.info" ever gets any more of the LED flexview screens back in stock, they are far brigher then anything prior.

One of my T60Ps is 2623-DDU and it has Hydis LCD (though it is dim and yellowish, so I replace it with ID Tech one from my T42p).
In my observation, ID Tech UXGA is found on almost all T60p manufactured in October 2006 and later.
