I found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/8GB-2X4GB-MEMOR ... 4137351%26
Will it work to upgrade my T61 to 8gb ram? If not, any suggestions for a 4-8 gb upgrade?

No that will not work. It's DDR3 SODIMM but the T61 takes DDR2 SODIMM. Unfortunately DDR2 is a lot more $$.

Exactly.
You're looking at $150 for 8GB of DDR2...unless you *really* need it, that's an expensive upgrade for a system from that era...
Not that I didn't enjoy 8GB in my FrankenPads, but I'm certifiable to begin with...

Re: T61 ram upgrade to 8gb?
Also note that on normal average use there won't be a performance gain going from 4 to 8gb, however if you like to open many webpages and/or memory hungry apps, you will see a substantial gain with more ram. Basically you'll need to fully use the 4gb installed before you would see any difference between two machines (4+8gb) running side by side.
If you're interested in 2gb genuine lenovo ram chips I can offer them @ $23 each. With the price of the 4gb chips ever rising we'll probably see the 2gb chips rising too soon. I'd also avoid any generic ram, if you don't get lenovo branded, then get a major brand name only.

Actually I am a tab-meister -- gazillions open at a time. But you're right about the diminishing returns, guys. Maybe it's time to learn some "tab discipline."
