I been wanting one of these since 2007, my pos HP desktop is dying, its 7 years old, so it needs to be replaced with something that will last 7 or more years, Need laptop for carry on a bicycle.

I mostly surf the web, watch youtube, edit photos, may watch a movie once a month or 2. So i am not sure if i should get a none wide screen or a widescreen,

considering the 15" Intel graphics, I want to upgrade to a Penryn when prices become dirt cheap, and possibly a uxga screen if it will fit or work.. which vin numbers should i be on the look out for?

i am seeing them on ebay for dirt cheap, if anyone has one for $100 send me a pm with photos with specs.

If you want to do the UXGA, you'll need to buy a T60 and swap in the T61 motherboard.

the wide screen t61 came with wuxga?

i think the wide screen was the most common? came with the most options?

I think i might just go with the wide screen.

Just be careful with any machine with a Nvidia GPU as those are prone to failure. There's a reason these high speced machine are so cheap on eBay. After owning a few T61 and T500 I much prefer the T500 myself.

I know about the Nvidia issue, I am surprised no one sued over it.

any other issues other then the lid hinges
