Where is the best place to buy a used / refurbished T60?
Where is the best place to buy a used / refurbished T60?
I am in the market for a used T60 (I had very good luck with 2 used X60s on Ebay - once I was pointed towards a good seller).
So: who might have recommendations? (Newegg has a recertified T60 with a very small HDD (60GB))
A follow up question: If I need to swap in a larger HDD (I'm only really needing a 120-160GB HDD) any recommendations for this?
Thanks!

The market place of this forum is really good.
As for Ebay, I love dealing with these folks: http://www.ebay.ca/sch/kiml2515/m.html? ... 1423.l2654
I can personally vouche for them as they are literally a few blocks away from my house. I know them personally. Really good folks and they ship stateside all the time.

Re: Where is the best place to buy a used / refurbished T60?
Can you please be a bit more specific?
14.1" or 15"?
XGA, SXGA+ or UXGA screen resolution?
Intel or ATI (X1300/X1400/FireGL) graphics?
Core Duo or Core 2 Duo CPU?
Preferred size of hard disk (up to 1TB)?
Your budget?
Or would you prefer a Frankenpad?
I can help you with all of the above!

From their item descriptions :Cigarguy wrote:As for Ebay, I love dealing with these folks: http://www.ebay.ca/sch/kiml2515/m.html? ... 1423.l2654
"... HAS NOT BEEN FULLY TESTED, IT BOOTS TO BIOS ..."
These are the types of sellers that I avoid !

Thanks for the helpful questions, RealBlackStuff - sorry I was so vague. I have a few answers:RealBlackStuff wrote:Can you please be a bit more specific?

Intel Core Duo is probably sufficient, but I'd be *curious* about Core 2 Duo.
120GB - 160 GB HDD
I'm unsophisticated about screen resolution and graphics; two of my Tpads (a T60 and an X60) have ATI - I prefer their displays to the one on the X60 I'm currently using, which I'm pretty sure is Intel. I try to do my homework on this, but it doesn't sink in. So I'm open to education / suggestions.
The TPad is going to be used primarily for 'everyday computing' ... on the other hand, I may be doing some very primitive video editing.
I hope this helps bring things into focus...And thanks!

If there's a Micro Center brick-and-mortar store near you, I'd check it out. (or any similar store, not your normal Best Buy to say the least) Where I am, I narrowed my choice down to either the T60 or T400 out of my local store's refurb section. Acquired a T400, works great.
Just my $0.02.
