Anyone done a light sensor mod?

I am thinking about removing the ThinkLight and installing a light sensor to adjust the brightness of my screen automatically.

Has anyone else done a similar experiment?

I don't think that's a good idea, for the very simple reason that the screen itself gets dark(er) and bright(er) all the time, depending on what program you use.
Watching a movie would make it even worse!
This continuing brightness-change would make a light-sensor go crazy!

No that won't be a problem when calibrated correctly.

I have been using a inbuilt web camera as a light sensor on another laptop with great results. :thumbs-UP:

I have two tablets: Google Nexus 7 and Asus Transformer TF101. One of the first things I had to do is to turn off automatic brightness control because it is annoying for me.
In my case, the thinklight is much more useful than the automatic brightness control. If you still want this feature, it may be better to put the light sensor in one of the screws of the LCD bezel?
