T60 screen upgrade question

Hello,

I have an IBM T60 with an 14.1" XGA screen (Hyundai-BOEhydis HT14X1B-201) which I consider to upgrade. Can't decide between Samsung and Toshiba LCDs though:

Would be grateful for your reasoned suggestions either way.

You need an SXGA+ (non-widescreen) LCD, which has 1400x1050 resolution.
The first screen you picked (Samsung) is a widescreen WXGA+ 1440x900, which would not fit.
The second one (Toshiba) would be the correct SXGA+ screen.

Just be careful where/from whom you buy!
eBayer LCD Kings wrote:We may ship a 100% compatible part number for your screen.

WE CAN SEND COMPATIBLE PART NUMBER FOR YOUR ORDER. THIS MAY INCLUDE A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER.
If you don't care about that, no problem.

Your first choice: Toshiba LTD141EN9B with IBM P/N or FRU:
42T0437 / 42T0438 or
42T0372 / 42T0373 or
13N7063
Second choice: Samsung ??
13N7059 / 42T0369

Thank you for the details provided. Indeed, the Samsung screen is not SXGA+ - my mistake, but thanks for pointing that out.

Would this one be compatible with T60, you think?

I would also be grateful if somebody could suggest a reliable European dealer from whom I could buy the needed LCD with confidence.

By the way, the seller of the Toshiba screen writes that its "FRU is 42x4582 on a sticker but under it is 42t0369". Would that do the trick?

That 42X4582 is a Samsung screen for a (same-size as yours) 14.1" non-widescreen T61.
It will fit, but IMHO Toshiba LCDs are much better.
The guy is lying.

Thanks.

So I guess buying something like this is preferable to trying to get some compatible LCD from some random shop?

Would I need a new inverter or any other additional pieces of hardware to swap the XGA for a new SXGA+?

Nope, they use the same ones.

Apparently, the guy who wrote a wrong FRU number said that the the number he sent "is off Samsung Compatible panel". The actual Toshiba screen has 13n7063 as its FRU. Asked him to take a picture of the actual screen. Here it is: http://postimg.org/image/e6n748hdt/ .

Given the P/N & FRU numbers, it seems that this screen should be working fine on my T60, right? Besides, I would prefer buying this one due to the fact that (including p&p) it costs the same as the one which is used, it would take less time to deliver and, what is most important, it is brand new. Contrary to the other one, this does not come with an inverter or hinges, but if I don't need them, it makes no difference.
