Can't find windows memory diagnostic tool on my computer

My computer keeps crashing, the blue screen says its could be a memory issue.

Then when the computer restarts the ms error report box appears, I sent the report to find I should run the windows memory diagnostic tool to check the ram. Though when following instructions and others from different sources I can't seem to find the tool.

Maybe my computer is old thats why. It says go to control panel> administrative tools > where i should find the windows memory diagnostic tool but I don't. And when I enter administrative tools on my control panel they show old icons from the 90s.

So how can I run this memory test on my computer?

I would say it's almost unless to try to run a memory diagnostic from within Windows. Instead, use a known working computer with a CD burner and grab a copy of the free memtest86+ utility from here:

I'd use the Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip) version. Download the .zip file, open it up, extract the mt420.iso file and write it to a blank CD. Note that you must use a CD burning program that can handle "image" files like the .iso. CDBurnerXP, another free program, can do this. Once you have burnt the CD, boot the system from it (press F12 at power up and select your optical drive). The diagnostic loads from DOS and begins executing. Let it run for at least three complete passes (an hour or so, depending upon how much memory you have installed). If you see any RED text messages in the lower half of the screen, then you've found some errors. If you more than one module in your system, test them separately.

Besides memory problems, a blue screen can come from bad (or missing) drivers or other hardware in the system.
