T60 factory restore questions

#1 Post by WVZR1 » Sat Jul 27, 2013 7:20 am

I just did an XP restore using the correct 7 disc package and the service pack 3 etc. All is well and pretty much as I expected but when first powered on I'm greeted with a small "pop-up" that asks "Rescue and Recovery" ? YES or NO buttons are present - It's done it all of the maybe 8 times the machine has been started and I'd like to make it go away. This is the first XP restore I've done on a T60 in a few years and I don't recall ever being greeted previously with that window/pop-up. There's a place where you would assume you could "check" the box but a "click" only references "move"!

I could use some help please. I don't have the machine here close presently or I'd post a screen shot image. I'm hoping that someone will be familiar enough to head me in the correct direction. If I don't see anything soon I'll get my hands on the machine and post the screen shot image.

Hey Brad - are you out there? I was going to drop you an email or PM but thought I'd just tag a note on here to this!

This is the desktop that I end up with 1 out of maybe every 20+ times. I just click "NO" and move on but I'm interested in correcting it. Ideas? I've done maybe 6 restore/rebuilds using the correct "multi-disc" package but never this issue. The package is genuine.

Admin edit: Changed large inline image to link. Please keep images <50KB and if you do post an image, put a PIC warning in the original subject line.
