Evening All, just a quick post regarding three possible FrankenPads for sale in the UK - a relative of mine has passed on and he was a bit of a tinkerer and apparently he has 3 x T60/T6p 15" TPs, which have been modified with T61 8895 Intel GPU motherboards.

I'm not sure of the exact specs yet (won't see them until the weekend when I help with the clear-out) but I do have spare CPUs and WiFi Cards to upgrade them along with the relevant Middletion BIOS version as well - please drop me a PM and I'll get back to you on Sunday once I've seen them.

Mods - If this is the wrong sub-forum please can you move it accordingly.

PS - Any money made will be passed onto his family.

Hi There, I've only managed to get access to his house today - quite literally it's full of parts and laptops but I'm still needing to get them all sorted out & cataloged first I'm afraid, so I can sort out the junk from the pile.

Members adj and Johan have also expressed interest in them as well & hopefully I'll have an idea on the exact specs and upgrades I can carry out before I can set any adjustable prices.

Will do mate - unfortunately it's the sheer volume, as my cousin was a bit of a hoarder (a bit is probably an understatement!) and by the look of it he even kept parts which were faulty & it's a right pain to sort it all out!

I would be also interested in small parts if available. Do you have a list of the parts he had? (provided you are willing to ship to Switzerland)

Not yet I'm afraid but just looking at the items it appears to be mostly T60/T61 series TPs with a few newer bits of hardware from the T400/T500 series along with a couple of X200 TPs.

Update: After a great deal of swearing and loud music I've managed to get through a third of my late cousin's hoard - as it stands right now I have the following list kicked off and I will update it as I continue sorting through the next batch (god I need a beer!).

Working TPs
X200 TPs
M/N: 7459-M78 - Status: Fully working, comes with 4GB DDR3 RAM (2x2GB), fully accessible BIOS (no power-on or supervisor password), has general wear & tear including scratches on the lid, etc; presently trying to sort out a replacement HDD for it, as the original is showing SMART errors via CrystalDiskInfo & HD Tune Pro.

1st: Fully working system, comes with T9300 CPU, 4GB DDR2 (1x4GB) and SXGA+ LCD
2nd: Fully working system except for the thermal fan occasionally seizing up, 4GB DDR2 (2x2GB) comes with T8100 CPU and XGA LCD
3rd: Fully working system except for the thermal fan occasionally seizing up, 4GB DDR2 (1x4GB) comes with T7100 CPU and SXGA+ LCD
Additional Info: To kick off with all three FrankenPads are fully working apart from two of them having fans which are starting to die off; I'll be contacting TuuS to see if he has replacement heatsink & fan units available than I can purchase from him to replace them with.

All three motherboards are T61 4:3 14.1" Intel X3100 GPU based (I'll get the exact model type & serials numbers uploaded later on) and they've been flashed with the Middleton BIOS as well (confirmed that with testing via SSDs, non-Lenovo WiFi Cards & a quick restore via Lenovo Restore DVDs) - I'm also trying to locate the original base units (from the T61 4:3 14.1" units), so I can transfer over the Windows COA & Lenovo Labels as well.

With regards to the WiFi Cards I'll replace all of them with Intel 5100/5300/6205 Cards, dependent upon what I find amongst his spares but also the ones that I have for myself. All three of them have unfortunately signs of usual wear & tear and I can only assume that one of them was kept as his primary runner & the other two as backup spares, that he could get off of the shelf.

Apologies all for being off the forum for a while but unfortunately my grandmother passed away and it's been all hands on deck to get everything sorted out for her - I'll be restarting the review of the the TPs and parts this weekend (I've got to attend a family meeting) along with listing a couple of systems initially, as I need to secure erase a number of HDDs to include with the TPs.
