Lenovo battery recalls still active?

My battery recently died (FRU: 92P1131) so I decided to check the recall status here:

I ended up running the automated checker and it found that my battery was included in the recall.

Ended up filling in my info and got a confirmation message about 3 weeks ago from battery@lenovo.com that included a confirmation number.

Anyways, I ended up trying to get a status update from Lenovo with this confirmation and absolutely nobody knows what to do with it. They continually say that the recall is handled completely online and there is no way to check.

My main question is this: Does anyone know if this program is still active?

Any clues?

Considering the application accepted my recall you would think everything is ok. If it wasn't active I have to assume that my battery would be rejected.

You received the battery after approximately 4 weeks? How was it sent?

Last time I dealt with Lenovo a courier was used and I had to set a time for delivery etc..

3 to 4 weeks from what I remember. I think it came by UPS but don't quote me on that (it's been a year :) ). I did get an email when the order was placed containing the confirmation number (looking at it right now) but didn't save any other email if it was sent. My guess is that the recall program is still active. After all, Lenovo probably doesn't want any news reports about flaming laptops.

Alright. I guess I have no other choice than to wait and see what happens.

I'd hate to know what happens if something messes up. Lenovo phone support was very unhelpful and simply refers to the website.

43 days now and nothing...

So who do I contact?

The old askus email address I used years ago isn't active anymore and there doesn't seem to be a way to reach Lenovo about customer service issues anymore.

battery@lenovo.com isn't monitored...

Just wasted 20 minutes on the phone and 4 different departments and Lenovo still has no idea what I'm talking about :evil:

UPDATE
Contacted the BBB and was finally put in contact with some individuals who could help. The recall situation was handled and I have the replacement battery.
