I finally got my VGA monitor to show up when it's plugged in on startup, but Windows doesn't remember the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" setting for the 2nd monitor. In the Display drop-down, it's labeled as "2. (Multiple Monitors) on ATI MOBILITY FireGL V5250" with resolution 1280x1024.
I've already gone into Advanced and set up the options correctly, and even into ATI Catalyst Control Center and adjusted everything properly there (it was already configured correctly), so I'm baffled.
