I have already buy a second hand T61p 15,4" with type 6457-CS5 and i check the LCD. I found that the LCD have been replaced to another one with low resolution (1280x800). The normal Reso based on HMM of my leptop is 1680x1050 (FRU 42X4641). I want to replace the installed lcd to be the original LCD but it's too difficult here to found.

Now i found a lcd with FRU 45N3310 with reso 1920x1200.

My operating system is 7 Home Premium 64 bit

if i installed that lcd (1920x1200), what the impact? Is there any trouble to the hardware especially vga card?

Thanks for the answer

There were T61p's with that screen ex-factory. So provided that your T61p is working fine there should be no problems or impact with a WUXGA screen ;)

You have a model that has the (in)famous nVidia chip. Could you check below your model type the manufacturing date and post it here?

Manufacturing date is 2008-06-30.

The date is important since the nVidia chips prior to August 2008 had a design bug. This means your T61p is one of the risky ones.

This has no impact on the screen you want to buy itself. But you may consider that if/when the chip fails, you will be able re-use the screen in Thinkpads from the same generation (T61/R61) or in the immediately next generation (T500/W500/R500). But not further... since from T510 onwards Thinkpads use 16:9 screen ratio.

So, coz this is a risky one, my conclusion is i will let the old (installed lcd 1280x800) use in my thinkpad.

Thank you Sir..
