sorry for my bad English..

I have a T61P 15.4 with nvidia gpu failure (motherboard FRUs 42w7653).

I bought on ebay a card with the same number FRUs but for a thinkpad 14.1!

it is possible that there is the same number of FRUs for different models?

Welcome to the forum.
This info is all about nVidia FX570M motherboards in T61 laptops:
42w7653 (for Merom CPU) or 42W7877 (for Penryn CPU) is only for 15.4" widescreen.
There is no such motherboard for 14.1" widescreen.
42W7650 (Merom) or 42W7874 (Penryn) is only for 14.1" NON-widescreen (4:3).
None of these boards fit in another model T61 than what they were made for.

The labels on these cards are not always in the same place.
They are usually under the RAM slots, but cards can also have it in a place where you would see the FRU when you remove the battery, as in the new one.
Compare the cards, do they look the same?
Probably the seller did not know what he was selling, and you have the correct new one...
Can you tell me what is written on the nVidia chip (next to where the CPU is)?

Not, as you see in the picture, but have the same FRU!!

I'm nearly 100% sure that the new one is a 41W1487 with Intel graphics for a 14.1" widescreen T61.
You definitely got the wrong board.
