Third connector in Ultrabay?

I have recently acquired a Thinkpad T60 that someone had thrown away. I'm disappointed that someone would throw away such a nice machine, but I'm not complaining. Last time I used a Thinkpad was my overclocked 600E (see signature) which I retired in 2008 or 2009.
So, for the issue at hand. I took out the optical drive too look which interface it's using, obviously IDE. I'm also seeing the battery connector. But what is that connector between those two? I would hope that it's SATA, which would allow you to connect a SATA drive natively using a genuine UltraBay caddy. (As opposed to the dime-a-dozen generic IDE->SATA converter caddies.) Thoughts?
