T60 OS installation issues...

#1 Post by joester » Mon Oct 14, 2013 6:34 pm

I recently acquired a T60 without the HDD, and just came by a SATA for it (still need the caddy).

Anyhow, I was able to insert the drive and power it up to make sure the drive was good.

It booted up into W7 and all seemed good, so I wanted to wipe the OS and install WXP since I don't have the COA for W7. The install CD will not run the install process because it does not see the hard drive...yet the computer will start and run W7 off it.

Any ideas on why the install CD cannot see the drive?

Thanks in advance.

BIOS>Configuration>SATA mode to be changed from AHCI to Comptibility, press F10 to save and exit, reboot and proceed with the wipe.
