Hello,
I replaced failed a nVidia board with a NOS integrated board. T61 running Windows 7, I get to the "Startup Repair" and then get "...cannot repair this computer automatically". Looks like Windows does not like the new hardware. (Only the MB was replaced) Any suggestions on what to do next would be appreciated!

Hey neighbor, a couple ideas to try,
You might want to check the SATA settings in the BIOS.
F1 at boot, then: CONFIG > SERIAL SATA
If it's set to Compatibility change to AHCI or vice versa.

Normally I would expect a blue screen and not even getting to the Windows Repair acreen but it's worth a shot.
Switch back if it doesn't work.

Also, booting with a retail Win 7 disc that matches your 32 or 64 bit install offers better repair options.
But I've found it sometines takes 3 or 4 attempts before it is able to do a complete repair.

And it's always useful to do a new install on a different drive to eliminate hardware as the problem.
