T61 / Windows 7 64bit - Do Nothing when close lid?
T61 / Windows 7 64bit - Do Nothing when close lid?
I usually have the machine Sleep when closing the lid, but I want temporarily for the machine to stay awake when closing the lid. When I go into Power Manager and change the behavior to Do Nothing, the machine does not remember and goes to Sleep when I close the lid. If I go back into Power Manager and look at the setting it says "Sleep." What's going on with this?

You need to make the same change with the Windows power settings in the Control Panel.
Look in the left part of the window.

Yeah... you'll have to cross check with the Windows power settings to make sure that's being set. Although Power Manager should be taking care of that...
Just click on the Battery and Plug icon(or just a battery if you're not plugged in) in your taskbar, and then click "More Power Options" in the small pane that pops up. The window should come up.

Trying my hardest to collect Thinkpads, but college and being broke kinda gets in the way. However...

Yep; disabling certain sleep triggers is nasty. But doable.
Now try to find a way to let it not wake when opening the lid... both my T61 and W520 have seemingly 100% randomisation on whether or not they will resume after opening the lid.

My need of this functionality is now gone... since getting one of my other Thinkpads up and running. I am bookmarking this thread, however, in case I need it at some future time. Thanks for the replies!
