I came across this on EBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271237505446? ... 1497.l2649

bought it for the few dollars, got it today, slipped it in and it worked "plug-and-play".

Amazing that such an old laptop can still be upgraded to near "state of the art"

You won't get full USB 3.0 speed though... since it's bottle necked by the Expresscard bandwidth.

That's the point of ExpressCard- to provide that level of expandability. You should see what good CardBus does for really old Thinkpads like the 770, 760 and 701 :)

True... but then again you never do half the time anyways.

Been wanting to get some of those, especially for some of the funky sideways T4/500 units.

...and another benefit is, that the card sits completely flush with the Thinkpads left side with no protruding parts. Nice :D

On a T60 it sits flush. On other laptops it is even a bit recessed. :)

Yes, provided your T61 has an ExpressCard slot and not a SmartCard slot. Otherwise, the assembly needs to be replaced before you can use ExpressCards.
