I have a bit of a franken-pad going on with parts from a T61 (the screen and casing) connected to the remains of a T60. It's worked so far!

I'm now looking to replace the palmrest as mine has a couple of cracks in it of ever increasing sizes.

I've so far made the mistake of purchasing a T61p palmrest which is intended for a 15.4" screen, so it's a few mm too wide to fit the laptop; and elementary error as I didn't check. So I'm now looking to purchase another palmrest for the T61p made for a 14" device.

I'm specifically going for a T61 palmrest for my T60 "base part" as it has the more modern black/red Lenovo badge in the bottom-right rather than the older red/blue/green IBM badge found on the T60 palmrests.

Question is, are they completely interchangeable with one another, or will I find subtle differences in the width still?

The 4:3 14" palmrests should be interchangeable, but I'm not 100% certain. There may be some issues due to Firewire/IR.

There were plenty of T60 palmrests with the Thinkpad logo, and there were a few T61 palmrests with the IBM logo. So whatever you get - make sure to specifically verify the logo.

The logo, BTW, is just a sticker and it's 100% interchangeable. But it may not stick as well after peeling and reapplying, if you are not careful or just unlucky.
