T60 (15"wide) Dead MoBo (8743CTO) will one from 14" T60 work

Hi guys,

need your advise. While ago my T60 (8743CTO) 15" widescreen died and it was diagnosed with Mainboard problem.

Now I've came across and offer for parts from 14" T60s to be exact - 1951-CTO (SN/L3- T4993) and 1952-CTO (SN/L3-HV098) and the question is - could the mainboard from one of those work on mine and also - is it possible to handle the T7200 cpu from my 8743CTO?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just think about it. Yours is 15", the other is 14". No it won't fit.

All T60 can handle a T7200.

I was hoping that as it's from a smaller one - theoretically could fit the larger housing... But I was pretty aware that it isn't likely so ;(

Only the 14.1" and 15" NON-widescreen T60 machines can use the same motherboards (that 15" just needs an extra interposer/extension board).
The 15.4" widescreen T60 machines need widescreen mobos (with either Intel or ATI graphics).
