Can I switch the hard drive from a Z60m into a T60?

Welcome to the forum!
Yes and no.
Both require SATA drives and they are physically compatible.
However, I wouldn't expect an OS image created in the Z60m (which is a widescreen equivalent of a T43) to boot and work without issues in a T60.

Best case, it would be slow and you would need to add drivers
Worst case, it would BSOD.
As long as you dont add drivers, its not going to physically hurt the drive to try it. Once you load drivers all bets are off for it ever going back. Small SATA dries are dirt cheap on fleebay now. Pick one up and load the T60, till you have the cash to replace it with a larger drive.

I have several works in progress that are waiting for parts, (or new homes) that I have installed 20 gigs in. Work perfectly fine as "place keepers" until I pull them out for use, or complete them. Once I know there intended purpose, I change the HDDs to what will be needed.
