T61/p IDLE temps
I did quite a bit of searching on this topic, but wasn't able to get anything super definitive.
Can we start a database of idle temps for T61 variants so we can get a good idea of what they should be running?
With the sensitivity of T61 / nvidia to heat, i thought it might be nice to help identify when they might need to be cleaned out
or heat sinks / fans looked at.
I can start -
Core2Duo - T7500
Nvidia 140M
Build data late 2007
R60 frankenpad / T61 planar / T61 fan.
Freshly cleaned out and Arctic silver 5 applied.
Environment - 20C
Core0,1 - 38C
Nvidia - 50C

Re: T61/p IDLE temps
You need to post the environment temperature too.
You can be sure there will be a difference on the internal temperature when the external temperature is 10 Celsius degrees instead of 30.

Re: T61/p IDLE temps
I've found the best way to test the cooling is under load, not idle temps. I usually run the fan on highest setting using TPFC and run Furmark gpu stress test, you can get an idea of the cooling system's ability to cope with the cpu/gpu while stressed. This will give you an overall idea of how efficiently your heat is transferring to your heatsink, but you can't go by temps alone because the not only will the environmental temps be a factor, but other things like humidity will effect the cooling, but if you test it regularly you'll know when something isn't right.
