I just restored the factory XP installation from recovery disks to one of my T60's. I've done little except install MSE and have been running Lenovo's System Update repeatedly. However, it keeps downloading and installing the same file: Rescue and Recovery Critical Patch for Windows Update (KB917422). After downloading and installing it, I run System Update again and am prompted to do the same thing over and over again. What's up with this and how can I fix it? I have been counseled to run TVSU repeatedly until it's satisfied before doing the same with Windows Update, therefore Windows Update remains further down my to-do list. Thanks for help.

Thanks, well, I followed the directions and manually installed the patch, rnr31cp5.exe and all went according to instructions. However, after a reboot when I run TVSU it still says I have to install the critical patch for windows update (KB917422). This has me confused.
