T60p screen replacement or t61 upgrade...
I have a t60p with busted display (like i mentioned in my previous posts) and am having difficulty deciding whether to keep my t60 and just upgrade the crap out of it or to buy a t61. I have a advanced dock + fast video card. So I am no longer worried about whether it will play Minecraft well. I am just trying to decide whether the t61 is worth the upgrade. How much better is the t61p compared to the t60p.

It depends...
T61 is potentially a much more powerful machine than the T60.
With that power - in most cases - comes the risk of the nVidia bug.
Are you looking to stay within 14" (4:3) range or...?

I really have no problem with the t61 in widescreen. I have been sorta getting used to my friend's t61 that they recently put together. All I asked for was second opinion on the matter. Anywho, thanks for your second opinion, ajkula66.

It really depends on what one's preferences are.
To me personally, a nice 15.4" WUXGA screen on a T61p is hard to beat when it comes to this range of machines.
If you need portability, then 14" is the way to go.

Re: T60p screen replacement or t61 upgrade...
Well, the T61 can take quite a lot more ram and can run Penryn processors, which run cooler and can save some power. Like ajkula said, it really depends on what you want to do.
The T61 can also be had with an intel chip instead of nvidia if you're worried about the nvidia bug. I know you said you play minecraft, and that can be troublesome on T61/nvidia. You also have an advanced dock, so you can do an external video card and play it there.
In short, nobody can really help you decide until you determine your needs.

Re: T60p screen replacement or t61 upgrade...
Personally, I'd either look at replacing the T60 screen or look at something above the T61. I'd look at a T400/T500 or T510. Not a big price difference between T400/T500 and T61 but T500 takes faster CPU, cheaper DDR3, and native SATA II. If you get a T500 with a ATI switchable graphic you get a decently powerful GPU and no Nvidia issues to worry about.
A really nice two machine setup is a T60 with 15" Flexview SXGA+ screen and a T500 with ATI 3650 and WUXGA screen.

And I have just such a T500 with switchable graphics for sale: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=113607
It has a very nice WSXGA+ (1680x1050) screen in the much sought-after 16:10 ratio.

No thanks TRBS. The t500 you're selling is WAY outside of my price range.
