T60 14" LCD replacement

#1 Post by kajencik » Fri May 16, 2014 3:47 am

Hello all, I need a little help!

I've come across an T60 with broken LCD (literally - someone probably sat on it). It is a 14" XGA screen and I'm considering if it is viable to replace it. Can i put in any 14" T60(1) lcd including SXGA+? Or maybe even from T4x series?
X60t - 3GB RAM, 60GB HDD, currently no battery, SXGA+
X61t - 4GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 1 hour battery, SXGA+ with bubbles
T530 - i7-3630QM, 16GB RAM, 240+480GB SSDs, 3G, Full HD LCD, 9 cell battery

As long as we are talking about 14.1" (4:3 non-widescreen) LCDs:
any XGA or SXGA+ screen from a T60/T61/R60/R61 will fit.
You can use the same LCD cable and inverter for both resolutions.
XGA from a T4x/R5x series will also work, but I don't think that a T4x SXGA+ does.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
