Mobo Swap

#1 Post by jronald » Sat Jun 07, 2014 4:26 pm

Had a T60 get dropped, and it will do nothing. Picked up a T60p Mobo with base, and transferred the needed parts. Attempted to fire it up and get nothing but a couple of lights (z and the Batt light). Remove the ram and get 1331, normal. Removed everything else and I dont even get a post beep. No video at all. Never gets to the point to look for a HDD. Pulled the CMOS battery and nada

Im kind of at a lost, this is not my first Goat Rope, been there done that. What am I missing

Had the same issue on a T60 X1400 I recently received. Just showed the Z icon and battery icon but no screen. I just switched it off with the power button (press for 10s) and switched it on again afterwards. It worked then. Perhaps you could try the same?

CPU was bad.................................
Never had that happen. It was the only thing left to swap.

Same here, dying CPU's are pretty rare, haven't heard of any cases in regards to the T60 series.

But I'm glad you figured it out.
